Three enchanting little works that make use of interesting harmonies and rhythms, shifting time signatures, and extended techniques (xylophone, fingernail, pedal slide, Andres' characteristic playfulness with space and time comes through very clearly in these. The rhythms and some bigger intervals are what push this piece from ntermediate to upper-intermediate.
The first piece uses a xylophone ostinato pattern, harmonics, and pedal slides. The second piece incorporates turn around arpeggios in sixtuplets and a brief cadenza ending in a two-handed trill.
The third piece has more xylophone, fingernails, and pedal slides.
